Attributed Sheffield Pals Badges
These medals, cap badge and Sheffield Pals shoulder titles are attributed to Pte Arthur Ellender. He was not an original Pal but part of a draft of N Staffs men who were sent to 12th Y&L on 15 October 1916. He remained with the battalion for the rest of the war.

I thought that might be the case - wonder what he was doing when he received the grenade injury to the knee, the battalion's war diary might give an idea whether it would've been sustained in attack, defence or by accident.

Behind the rose, is that the "D" shaped sweat hole that's been mentioned as being on some Middlesex Regiment badges for in a couple of recent threads?
