Andy, anodised Welsh Guards I have the following:-

Toye Kenning & Spencer - ( over 2 lines)
Toye Kenning & Spencer - (on 1 line)
J R Gaunt Bham
J R Gaunt London - (brass slider)
Firmin . London
Firmin London
Firmin (small font)
Firmin ( fat)
LB&B
Smith & Wright Ltd
Dowler Birmingham
W M Dowler Bham
- blank slider -

Incidentally, any idea what the silver shoulder title is? It isnt an alloy blank or faded gold one, it is silver anodised. Error or something more interesting?
Regards all

Bess

I reckon its just had the Gold/Brass rubbed off. It looks to have been rubbed with something abrasive. Aluminium is silver in colour, anodising hardens then they add the colour.

No it's got silver anodising on it, the photo doesnt really show it well. It's most likely an error. A bit like these too . . .

The Scots Guards is an alluminium blank which has not been anodised.
