Default 26th Hussars

Gentlemen
I have had this years and today had a close look at it and it is sand cast ! Has anyone seen anything like this before?

Kind regards Chay

Hi Chay,

Yes, it is a known Indian cast version believed
to be period.

However, there exists a cast fake derivative of this badge, which is slightly smaller in size and exhibits subtle differences - being the ‘gilded’ version below.

Best,

Marcus

Markus,
That is excellent and great information ! I do have a few India made badges but most are the cast in loop attachments !
These looked New Zealand style in construction

Kind regards Chay

I agree that it is likely a locally made Indian badge. Plenty of these type had lugs and sliders as well.
