Default More PoW Feathers - Royal Wiltshire Yeomanry ?

Another recent addition which shows a Tented Camp Orderly Room on what I imagine is an annual Summer Camp.

As can be seen they are wearing Prince of Wales Feathers badges to both Caps and collars and looking at the shape of the badge and general uniform worn I wonder if these Men are serving with the Royal Wiltshire Yeomanry?

The two left hand figures both wear a plain medal ribbon which could well be the Volunteer Long Service Medal and the Sergeant has the Crossed Rifles badge above his chevrons.

However if they are indeed from this Unit should they be wearing the chain style epaulettes or were they not worn with all orders of dress.

Any suggestions or identifications would be most welcome.

Simon.

Is there another badge below the crossed rifles (I'm seeing something similar to a small Scouts badge but I think I'm getting a bit carried away there - a crown?).
There's more than likely nothing there, just a ridge in the fabric.

Leigh,

Think its a trick of the light, appears to be nothing there when viewed under a glass Mate.

Regards, Simon.

I was wondering - there's a nice colour plate of them in one of the Osprey's I'd been too lazy to dig it out. I will now.

Certainly could be by the shape of the scroll under the feathers. would they have used the white cap though, have seen an illustration of a similar style cap worn by the RWY, I'm just not sure.

Yes, I agree that they are Civil Service Rifles. Definitely not RWY, which wore a very different uniform.

Initially I considered 15th London and had remembered the Osprey illustration but had convinced myself the badge would probably be black.

Yep (I've only got about three photos of 15th Londons, all WWI, Service Dress, blackened badges).

That looks an odd place to wear a cap badge on the sergeant's side cap.
