Default 16th/5th All WM Collar

I have an all white metal collar size badge for the 16th/5th 'The Queen's Lancers' but this is not the collar badge that I know. I do know that officers and warrant officers used to wear a collar sized badge such as this on their SD caps. No maker marks but looks and feels to be 'genuine' i.e. not a modern fake/copy. Any info to enlighten me would be appreciated.

Looks silver to me. Are you sure the overlays have not just come off there badge? The right pennon when looking at it looks like something may have been fitted.
Cheers,
Alex
