What is your Christmas present?
Hello Guys,
We all do, don't try hiding it from the Misses, what are you buying yourself for Christmas? I have splashed out, yes, really splashed out...bought a fab battledress blouse with some fab Airborne, Glider Pilot stuff on. Not my usual thing but, hey, it is the season of good cheer. Hope my uncle likes the silver plate, TA lapel, badged cups too. They are engraved by an expert too with Ypres on them. Pukka stuff, lovely jubbly... Matti |

Me, I think I'm buying some perfume ??
Those who know me will realise it's for Kath, those who don't will have to keep guessing , after the year I have had, treating myself to something, particularly on the QT, would not be a good idea Dave.

There you go Mr Jackanory,
You have finally slipped up !! lol, everyone, including Kath knows that medals ( as nice as they are ), do not fall into my remit . If you had said Helmet Plate, you might have got a little leverage but medals, no way Jose ??? Dave.

Not this time
Hi Gents,
I was hoping that the item in the listing below would be under my tree on Christmas morning. It would have been the icing on the cake for my collection but it wasn't to be. I think the winner may be a member, so good on him, whoever he is and I'm sure he'll enjoy the item. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/RIFLE-BRIG...vip=true&rt=nc Regards to all. Ry |

Too cheap for me Ry,
Dave, stop denying it, you have been sniffing around medals for ages. Bet you are still hiding them in that flower pot in the shed... |

Jackanory, tells lots of stories, and I bet that is the item in his latest fable.

I have to admit that Marc is absolutely right. I do like a story but there are always clues as to my story telling. I have to admit that were I ever to start collecting SF etc I would have a return visit to Middle Wallop where there is lots of jolly good stuff and it hasn't been aged with tea bags!!!
We have to keep our faintly ridiculous hobby gently light hearted...after all, as a girl friend once said, 'you just collect bits of pressed tin and, if you ever annoy me you will come home and find me sitting in the middle of your collection with a hammer' She went on to say that there were one or two pretty ones that she might leave. I wouldn't have ever trusted her in the house on her own again, she would have been history after that threat

I was ironing an army shirt one day and she stood watching. (Best place for her whilst there was a hot iron around). Inquisitive as she was she wandered over and looked at the lable which read, in that unique way only army MoD labels can, 'olive drab' and as an aside as she walked away, 'that just says it all'. I was chuckling for days.
I went to her wedding and took the photos. Not sure the groom was too happy!! |

Why did you take her wedding photos Matti?
Didn't you get any at your own wedding? |
