My Newest Goodies
I received a package yesterday and today and am thrilled with both. Yesterday I received he Blanking patch with the red cross and why I got it and love it so much is that it has part of the Army stamp on it. Makes me think it was an arm band cut down and stitched ot the blanking patch.
The package today is one I've had on hold with a fellow member and finally got it covered and have just received it. Thank You Colin!!!! Several really awesome goodies here for me. First another nice silver RS pin!, then a very well done repro Australian Nurses. I am excited with this because I doubt I'll ever get a real one! Lastly, Some other gift items, some named VAD nursing badges. Those on the right in the picture. I am so thrilled with all of this but am loving the named pieces to a VAD - THANK YOU again!!! Terry |

These two threads cover the Geneva Convention requirement for the ‘Army Medical Service’ stamp on Red Cross armbands.

Tim, Many thnaks for the info and links. I had heard the stamp was required, but never had anything finite to cover it, so this is excellent! Love the Bosnian brassard, and would love to find one as nice!
Is it possible to date the patch based on the camo pattern of the blanking patch? Terry |

Terry,
Your Red Cross patch is on a Multi Terrain Pattern (MTP) blanking plate. The MTP Personal Clothing System Combat Uniform (MTPPCSCU for short) was issued from about 2011 and has replaced clothing made in Disruptive Pattern Material (DPM) in temperate and desert designs. I have recently seen a badge consisting of a Red Cross on a 83mm white circular background which I believe is designed for the MTP blanking plate. I have not seen one yet with the ‘ARMY MEDICAL SERVICE’ Geneva Convention stamp. https://www.britishbadgeforum.com/fo...ctureid=153685 Tim
