7th Hussars pagri?
A recent acquisition with an unusual fixing, the retainer for the pin is missing and the pin seems to have suffered some loss.
Can anyone confirm this is a pagri badge? Thanks in advance. Rob |

Hello Rob
I can't say for certain, but going by your image it looks to be a cast badge and the reverse appears to be silvered? I would suggest its 'in theatre' made, probably India, and as its pinned it might well be a Pagri badge. It is an interesting find in any event. Regards Rob

Rob, the badge is just as I bought it, I will clean it up and see what happens.

Yes, I'm it is. The FSH badges were cast like this but the fitting has been altered. It should be a spring loaded, hinged, flat wired loop as per Bosleys Postal Auction 24th Jan 2018, lot 46. Cheers Bill |

The regiment would certainly be in need of a FSH badge, given all their time spent in South Africa, India, Mesopotamia and Egypt, not sure about Hounslow though!

7th Hussars
Thanks chaps for the input, a strange badge which I must say in over 60+ years of collecting I have never encountered before.
In trying to repair it the cypher fell off due to the heat involved and its now consigned to the scrap box, maybe a locally made badge, who knows . . ! It's history now and after 40+years of repairs one I failed with . . ! Rob |
