Default German WW2 items

I would like to sell some German items that I acquired in the mid-1980s, but have experienced challenges when trying to do so using e-Bay. I have found myself falling foul of the rules relating to 'offensive' content, which means that anything spotted with a swastika is immediately removed.

Any advice on how to go about selling such items would be appreciated!

I should mention that the Luftwaffe officers car pennant was given to me by a veteran who acquired it while serving with 78th Infantry Division in Italy. The other items were purchased at the time from a militaria shop (so authenticity of some may need to be verified).

Just cover the offending part so it can not be seen.

Hi Marc

I have actually done that on about 3 separate occasions with the Luftwaffe car pennant and they still removed it.

I may of course try again!

Default German badges?

I`m afraid that your two NSFK breast badges are very badly made fakes as is your Spanish cross in silver ,the pin fittings are all wrong and the quality of the badge detail is not right either. The stick pins also look rather dubious do you have a picture of the reverses?. The RAD officers cap badge and Hitler lapel pin look ok but the red enamel should have a stippled background and it doesn`t show up very well in the pictures and the way the prongs are fixed is dubious . Third Reich militaria is a real minefield and after 50 plus years of collecting I have given up as the fakes are getting just too good.

Thank you macandpud, your observations are much appreciated! Good to know conclusively about the NSFK badges and Spanish Cross, even if it would have been wonderful to find they were 100% genuine.

As mentioned, those badges were bought from a militaria shop, when I was in my youth and not sufficiently knowledgeable on the finer points of fakes/repros of WW2 German items. Also, of course we did not then have the internet and forums like this one to check on the authenticity of such items. Fortunately, I did not invest too much more of my pocket money in similar items, before I stopped collecting German militaria. Nevertheless, I did manage to acquire some nice genuine items from veterans, who had picked them up as wartime souvenirs - including the Luftwaffe officers car pennant.

I picked-up the collecting of WW2 British militaria some decades later, by which time I was a bit older and wiser!

Thank you Didier for the confirmation regarding the authenticity of the RAD cap badge.

Yes, I have now seen the extensive discussion on the Adolf Hitler 1933, being a fantasy badge. Although it is interesting to note that even fantasy badges are collectable, with the rarer ones being sought after.

These are pictures of the other items that I received together with the Luftwaffe car pennant, from the veteran of 78th Infantry Division.

In addition to his 'souvenirs', is a divisional history, which - at the time - was only for sale to members of the Divisional Association.

The original owner is in the photo with the jeep, taken somewhere in North Africa or Italy.

Yes, thank you for the comment. I have already sold that one! There were also a few Kriegsmarine trade patches, also sold at the same time.

The pennant is the jewel in the lot, especially with the Vet who brought it back in an original picture.
