Default Lovat Scouts

I was fixing my gilding metal Lovat Scouts badges onto cardboard this morning and as I’d taken some photographs I thought some members might find them interesting.

Here is the IY and Y version of the small collar sized cap badge with the stag’s antlers inside the circlet.

The close-up photo really shows the detail on the IY version right down to the stag’s pupil which I hadn't ever noticed before. Amazing detail considering it’s a small collar size badge.

The colour has unfortunately bled from the photos (perhaps the light), but I confirm the badges are all gilding metal.

Again these are the IY and Y version of the collar size cap badge but this time with the stag’s antlers ending at the inner rim of the circlet. The Y version is on a slider which differentiates it from an actual collar.

Interestingly both the matching collars in this photo as well as the solid badge have been hobbed from IY versions.

If you look closely you can make out where the I was on all of them and what looks like the remnants of a full stop after where the Y should have been on the solid version.

This is the mid-sized gilding metal badge. Larger than the collar sized badge but about ½ the size of the large white metal badges.

Great collection. Thanks for sharing, Mark.
It got me checking my Lovat Scouts, some of which are similar.
Regards,
John
