Hello all.
I've had a re study of the badges in posts 8 and 9.
The 'small of' and 'large of' badges.
The 'small of' badge in post 8 I believed was a badge produced around 1927 as what is mentioned in the book the 'Proud Trooper', as it states a badge was produced with a slimmer head.
After a new study of the two WW2 photos that were re sent to me by an OCA member, which are a lot clearer, both badges being worn are the large of pattern, not the small of.
I believe now that the 'large of' badge was possibly the 1927 badge that the book states, it is a similar strike to the solid chin badge that was sealed in 1923.
The head isn't slimmer, just a different shape, but I'm taking that with a pinch of salt. The looped large of 's would be the earlier badges I'd say, the slider ones perhaps 40's, and they are the ones to make up the shortfall of badges when recurring for WW2.
The book has been very accurate though.
So, in conclusion, the running order is as follows.

Imperial Yeomanry pattern c1902
Bazzar made badge 1916
Cut and shut 1916
War Office pattern 1917
Solid chin 'large of' 1923
'large of' c1927
'small of' 1951
Bi metal circa late 40's/50's
Anodised 1965
PRI circa 60's/90's

Hope this is still of interest to members.

Chris
