Default Uncle Bill 27th Lancers photo

Dear Forum

I havent seen many but may have been looking in the wrong place!

So I thought I would share this picture of Uncle William Copple in 1941 27th Lancers the distinctive badge backing can be clearly seen, although the colouring is a bit suspect as the picture was hand coloured.

as you can see in the next picture Bill transferred into the RAC and was eventually due to his fluent German poached by the intelligence corps and eventually became a CSM. He took part in a lot of debriefings of senior Nazi's around the time of the Nuremberg trials.

Regards

Paul

On the wall up on the landing in my home. Literally took all of these out of an old ammo box in his loft and framed them up.

Good Evening kingsman74,

Thank you for posting the excellent picture of your uncle. Though hand coloured the red backing to his beret badge is the correct shade.

All good wishes,

Peter

Just found one more picture of Bill and you can just make out the edge of his 2 Corps formation sign, this can be seen in the top right of the framed collection.
