Sadly, Kermit Roosevelt killed himslf during WW2. He was stationed in Alaska at the time.

His older brother, Brigadier General Theodore Roosevelt jnr, led the assault on Utah Beach. The only one of the D Day Generals to land with the first wave of troops.

At the time he was a sick man, well into his 50s, and walking with a stick. He died of a heart attack about a month later. Before he knew that he had been awarded the Medal of Honor for D Day.

Sometimes having the father he had must have sucked.
