Default Lanyard on Para BD Tunic

Hi everyone,
I'm new to this forum and I was hoping someone would be able to help.
I have acquired recently a battle dress tunic of a sergeant who was in the Intelligence section of the 3rd Para Battalion. I was able to trace his para training to mid 1943. He was demob around 1947.

I'm intrigued about the lanyard which initially I thought was 14th Para (TA). I saw some photos on the forum of a 14th Para lanyard which indicates mainly black with a bit of gold. On mine, it is exactly the opposite. Could it be the Bedfordshire & Hertfordshire Regiment?

It is obviously a walking out BD blouse and I've read somewhere although lanyards were not entirely defined yet among Para battalions during WW2, personnel wore sometime the ones of their parent units.

I wouldn't be surprised in this case the original owner was part of this regiment before joining the Paras because he was from Watford and I would imagine during WW2, people were enlisting in the formations close to where they lived.

Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks.
Pierre
