Not wishing to hijack the thread but looking at your Malta Artillery badge it looks like the curved Firmin mark has been stamped over the top of another maker mark (I would hazard a guess that it is over a Firmin London mark or possibly even a Buttons Ltd mark). I've got a Malta Artillery badge that I posted a while ago because although it has a Buttons mark on the slider, if you look closely it has been stamped over a Firmin Ltd mark (you can just see a faint F before the B and a faint N after the D of Ltd). If yours has been overstamped do you have any ideas why the Malta Artillery badges have had this done to them?
