It was certainly worn during the 1980s, 1990s and noughties. My personal belief is that it would have been implemented shortly after BGS became BHASVIC in 1975 and the BGS badges could no longer be worn (some officers did continue wearing them into at least the 90s).
The contingent no longer operates at BHASVIC and moved over to Longhill High School which had for some years provided some of the cadets and officers. I need to confirm its current status.
