Hi, there are dress regulations for, I think, 1925 which call for a bi-metal officers cap badge, but it stipulates collar badge size, from memory it actually says "shilling size". The bi-metallic full size badge does turn up in collections but I think it is a fantasy badge. It is usually just lost wax gilded, again I think it was the same guy who in the 70's made all the Tank Corps variants. I would be more than pleased to be proved wrong but the quality and lack of any evidence tends to mitigate against it, best wishes Mike
