As a VERY young Sgt in HQ BAOR, I ventured into the WRAC Sgts' Mess (Irreverently called (Cock Snatchers' Arms), and when asked by a rather rotund Sgt what I would like for a drink, replied "a beer, please". She ordered a pint and a half, and gave me the half!!!
