By the time of the outbreak of the Korean War 79 Armd Div had been disbanded for over four years. However the same formation sign was adopted post-War by the Specialised Armour Training Establishment, RAC. It is to this unit that the soldier in the photograph would have belonged. I believe some Churchill tank-mounted specialised armoured equipments were sent to Korea - just in case.
