Destro 1918, A photo of front and rear of the badge would have been helpful. The significance of the letters and numbers are I believe a maker’s code, (in this case, I believe the maker may be EVCO), which could indicate mould or stamp number tied in with the date of manufacture. Please check In my albums under Royal Canadian Artillery post 1952. I do not have a copy of your badge but for sure, you will see at least three beret badges very similar to what you describe.
