I agree that the wire fixtures are odd. That was what prompted my notion that it's post-47, as I've seen a few more modern badges, sand cast, with thin metal 'pins' cast onto the back, clearly meant to be bent over [once] to asten them to cloth.
OTOH, Khyber and Norfolk Reg't may be correct. I didn't find anything like it in the few IA books I have on badges.
