Hi Nozzer,
The badges on the belt are assumed to be collected by a New Zealand soldier during WW1 but I guess we need photographic evidence that the RNVR patch was worn then. I had thought that perhaps this badge was obtained during the Gallipoli campaign as New Zealanders were fighting alongside RNVR chaps.
