Headdress is a subject that is often raised in various sections already, Cavalry, infantry etc. when the relevant cap badges are under discussion, and it works well as far as I can see.
Also if you are intent on going ahead with a specific section for headdress, why stop there? do the whole thing, lets have a uniform section as there is far more insignia on a uniform, but again the same applies, the subject of uniforms is raised in the relevant sections, as and when, and works well.

Each to their own opinion and of course I respect yours and your concerns in this instance.
My own feelings are that putting head dress or uniforms for that matter in their own separate areas would be a positive step, whilst this might not necessarily make items to a specific unit easier to find would actually make things more logical and ordered as head dress is to some a separate area of collecting whilst I'm sure many badge collectors draw the line at badges others do specialise in collecting head dress items, personally I'm a mixture of both, achieving this by only collecting badges and headdress to a reasonably small number of specific Regiments I'm interested in.
I'm personally much more keen on a headdress section (initially in any case) than a uniform one (not that I have any objections to such a section coming on line if members express an interest in such) as I feel that their is likely to be more input in the former rather than the later due to the probable likelihood of their being more items of headdress in members collections than full or part uniforms as if the majority of members are like me I simply don't have the storage space let alone the display space for uniforms and limit myself to a few choice items in my limited collecting sphere stored away in boxes so that they wont be lost to history, but am able to maintain a reasonable collection of head dress in the space I have available.
Just my thoughts of course.
