Marc,
Perhaps I am confusing the appointments of Colonel-in-Chief, Colonel Commandant and Regimental Colonel? While the first two are honourary appointments to more senior or retired officers, Regimental Colonel is presumably a serving officer appointment.

AATTV - It looks like a well made item, have you looked in the inside pocket for a sewn in tailor's label which usually shows who the jacket was made for?
