It's all too common. I was in one of the Normandy museum's a few years ago and there was a donated collection on display that was full of restrikes. The AAC museum at Middle Wallop has a similar collection on display.
It would be nice to find a sealed pattern card of an a/a Suffolks but I think I am correct in saying that authorisation for production did not result in a sample being made. Hagwalther may be able to elaborate,
