I know of one long gone dealer from Toronto who would put a wire through some opening in a badge and seal it. Presuming that it could not be exchanged and mailed back as unacceptable (or fake). They were a good source of provenance if you kept the seal on the badge! Sadly, I did not think of this, and cut the seals of, so I still have the receipt, but that does not prove that the badge I show, was the original one I purchased!
