Regarding the forum's own search, I know that the 3 letter word (or less) block is a pain. Problem is allowing a three letter search causes the size of the forum's search index to balloon in size, taking up space which some poor sod has to pay for.
There is a way around it by adding specific three letter words (or search terms) to the index directly. These could be things like DWR 11H KLR WW1 WWI RAC.
If any enthusiastic bod did want to draft and send me a list of three letter search terms relevant to our subject matter I'll add it to the search.
Of course google search will deliver the forum TLAs no problem.
