Firstly, apologies for the late response and opening an old thread. I have a small collection of Cape Corps insignia and have done a fair bit of research looking at old photographs and history of the corps. I am still to find a picture of this CC title been worn and all the pictures I have seen show the curved title CAPE over CORPS.
As a suggestion this title may well be the boer war sloach hat badge/title of a unit called Cape Cyclists. Maybe a look in that direction may answer your question.
