Seems likely that S plus number is for platoons in the Scottish Division Company. Likewise the K and Q series for the King's and Queen's Division Companies. However, I have not seen any in the L for Light Division or any for the Prince of Wales Division (P or W?) which will merge with the Scottish shortly.
