I quite often "browse" online and find items either mislabled or in an inappropriate section (military items in charity listings etc).
Spotted this 'Flanders Fields Centenary Poppy' , it had slipped through the net because there was no mention of Poppy/Flanders Fields/RBL in the listing.
Snapped it up (not for silly money
) , am not sure how many of these were made . Checked on TMB (company that made all the 'provenance metal' pins) but no mention of number of this one made.
Somme Pins - Just over 100,000 (including 19,240 pins are being made to represent every British soldier killed on the first day).
Passchendaele Pins - 60,083 (remembering the men who Fell at Passchendaele).
I don't intend to make a profit from this pin , my preference would be to try and swap it for other "centenary" pins (the oval enamel ones) that I need for my collection. If that doesn't pan out I will offer it for sale to forum members to ensure it goes to a good home.
