There are several genuine Artists Rifles dies. A couple, including your Minerva with ‘eyeliner’ as I call her, have been restruck from the original die. Your badge is however genuine and shows correct good reverse detail and a period slider.
So far every blackened brass Artists Rifles I’ve seen has been from the eyeliner Minerva die. I’ve read that the Artists may have briefly adopted a green uniform in the 1930s, so could these BB badges which are quite scare be for wear on that? And might that date the die as still being in use in the 1930s? I don’t know I’m afraid.
In all honesty the badge could be anytime from WW1 until 1930s.
