I’ve just picked up some buttons to add to this thread. First up is this rather nice Officers’s pattern fire gilt example for 1813 to 1831. No makers mark.
The second set of photos show what I believe to be gaiter buttons for ORs from the period directly prior to the above and dating from the war of 1812, although I don’t know the significance of the variation in size at the moment. I understand Parkyn refers to them but I don’t have a copy. Soon to be rectified.
