Hi Eddy

I think you may be over simplifying the distinction between Bomb Disposal and EOD in the British service.

It was certainly the case when I was serving that with regards to the army the royal Engineers and RAOC both had EOD units (' Bomb Disposal' just being another name for this ), The RE being responsible, in this country, for air dropped munitions from WW2 and the the RAOC which is now RLC being responsible for terrorist IEDDs and all the other bits of stuff, grenades, shells etc dug up and found being dealt with by the nearest available team whether this be RE RAOC RAF or Navy.

With regards to Badges RAOC/RLC EOD is a trade badge - Ammunition Technician

The Engineers wore the 'bomb'
