Fany made very little distinction between the ranks while off duty, for instance they had no separate messes and Troopers enjoyed officer privileges while visiting male units.
This is my mother as a Trooper in 1941 and her various badges and medals - the assorted collar badges are those of units to which she was attached. She finished the war as a Junior Commander ATS and Battery Captain of a HAA Bty RA.

Thank you for sharing your mothers items. How truly wonderful that you should have all these and that they are still in the family - a real treat to see.
Can I ask what the splendid badge is lower right with large 'H'..?
