Thanks Terry, both are USA though and I would have thought the red Kings crown would have a UK Royal connection which would possibly be Royal Flying Club, although I can find no reference of such a club.
Failing any more suggestions I guess I've drawn a blank with this one. It does however appear to have been worn, with the reverse having a flat appearance after having been on a uniform, which made me think it was a genuine badge and not a fantasy piece.
