As a Yeomanry cloak it would have been used, with the buttons, for as long as it was accepted for use (as seen in the example above). I have an example of an Officers post WW2 Blues with that button still in use in the 1950s. So that half cloak could probably be early Cold War (if it was older I would expect to see silver Lions Heads and chain across the neck)?
