Hi Andy,i believe that they are both 100% genuine. I have a few examples of Grove badges.A Manchester,Northamptonshire and an Artillery beret badge.They all have the same fitting as your examples.It appears that the slider is slotted and then fitted over a stump of aluminium which is then flattened to grip the slide.
