The QC RAAMC badge would originally have been gilt brass.
From past personal experience I think the one you have has been "cleaned" for an extended period of time in an ultrasonic jewelry cleaner. Similar discolorations can also occur if you use lemon or coke etc.
It will probably loose some of the redness and go a dull brass colour as it ages.
