Unfortunately Twice!, though second time was easier, didn't have to learn morse the second time and only had to pass at 6 wpm not 12 like the first time!
Squadron was changing though, it was absorbing a lot of guys from 10 para and changing a lot in its character, becoming a lot more like a Para regt unit, which didn't suit me personally! The Danish wings were never worn in the 80's, other than on track suits, British para wings were worn on jumpers and shirts but not on the SAS windproof smock that most wore, but in the 90's a lot of Para smocks appeared with foreign wings worn on the chest. I never undertook the para course, in the 80's only about 30% of the squadron was para trained!
