That is one type of this badge I have observed, with the red painted sting.
I was aware of 10 Para involvement in desert warfare but was unable to confirm as I could not find a photograph of the badge in wear.
The placard/shield is very interesting. Its shows a third type of scorpion badge I have not seen.
