hi dudley, the cast brass badge you show in the photo is more commonly known as the SIDI REZEGH badge, named after the battle in 1941 where the battalion took a terrible beating suffering very heavy casualties. these badges were made locally in theatre, hence the very rough appearance, however i cannot say how short a period this badge was in use for. regards john
