Hi James

Here are some photos of the Auckland RSA badge. The "ribboned" one is mine and the other two are borrowed.

You can see that the Page badge is different (heavy "seriffed" letters to the "A.R.S.A.") and that there are TWO versions by Watts. I think that the earlier one is the one where the "ponga" tree frond doesn't hang down over the trunk.

What I forgot to add is a photo of a guy actually wearing the badge with the red ribbon so I'll add that at some point. I've found another mention of the red ribbon in a newspaper plus a "lost and found" ad asking people to hand in the badges if they find them as they (the ARSA) can't replace them. They were also encouraging members to "exchange" their round badge for the standard RSA badge.
