Julian is in the process of aiding me with this. His latest update to me is as follows:

1170A/1897 The Grenadier Guards loops
1174A/1897 The Coldstream Guards loops
1172A/1897 The Scots Guards loops
5032/1900 The Irish Guards loops
8387/1915 The Welsh Guards loops

These all relate to headdress, as I’ve tried throughout to explain. For the three senior regiments the reference is to the Guards pattern forage cap (pillbox type) of that period. In addition a Guards pattern folding field service cap was worn with a cloth badge. For the Irish Guards their first headdress was the Guards pattern forage cap similar to but smarter than the Brodrick. Finally, the Welsh Guards began with the brass bound peaked forage cap. All those badges had loops.

It seems that there was, later on, a brief period when there was a specification for the Welsh Guards with a slider. As mentioned earlier, there’s been over a hundred years of private purchase badges with sliders too.
