"BVANS", Welsh dragon badge
This one has sat in my "unknowns" box for a long time. It looks like a Welsh dragon above the letters "BVANS" (both appear to be struck as one piece) mounted separately on a laurel wreath. It measures 39 mm high X 45 mm wide with two retaining lugs on reverse and appears to have been gilded at one time, though most is now gone from the front. There are two retaining lugs on the reverse and it came on a red wool backing, still present. One suggestion that I received was "Brecknockshire Volunteer (or Voluntary) Army Nursing Service," of WWI vintage but have been unable to find any reference to such an organisation or insignia. Can anyone throw any light on this mystery badge? Thank you
