7 basic types known (last 3 found in 2 crown varieties also)
1. Laurels on upper scroll & 'Artillery Volunteers' on lower scroll (pre 1891)
2. Similar but with blank upper scroll (pre 1891)
3. Laurels on upper scroll & 'Volunteer Artillery' on lower scroll (post 1891)
4. Similar but with blank upper scroll (post 1891)
5. Laurels on upper scroll & 'Quo Fas Et Gloria Ducunt' on lower ( no date but
found with VC & KC ) This one with VC is pictured below .........
6. Similar but blank upper scroll (VC & KC varieties)
7. Similar but with no top scroll ( VC & KC varieties)
