Thanks for posting that image. I was pleased to see not only the Albert Bonnets, but also the white, drill-order shell jacket and the very narrow dark blue stripes that were worn upon it. Proportionately I think that they were around 3/4 of an inch wide. They were used for both rank and good conduct.
Full dress stripes were each formed from two, one inch deep stripes stitched together. The colour image shows a CG NCO from the blind side in relation to his cap star.
