Found a newspaper article :
"Building work begins on site of crashed WWII Lancaster bomber in Wolverhampton"

It mentions all the crew , which consisted of a pilot , flight engineer , navigator , air bomber , wireless operator and 2 air gunners.

So perhaps the term "air bomber" was used on occasion instead of the usual RAF description "bomb aimer" ?
