That's it. Just an extra strap over the buttons. Most seen with RAF Police Dog Demonstration teams and RAF Regiment Queen's Colour Squadron. Officers and WOs used/use a different black strap with sliders -no buckles- similar to an Army officers in construction. Regards, Paul.
PS. RAF other ranks caps changed a couple of times in the 1990s I think- 1st change a sown on badge- then a slightly different cap that did away with the fitting holes for a metal badge and had a brown head band inside. During my time the head band was an off white/cream colour- both RAF SD cap and RAF Police white cap.
