They've definitely been faked though and I remember your post as I'd just picked up a possible ringer. However, I'd like to think this officer's gilt badge is the real deal.

Mark, Thanks for bumping my old memory awake. Yes I do have those badges.
I had totally forgot about them (wot a plonker)
My apologies to all.
I keep them in a separate tray from the other GV1R badges.
I have 6 of these with 1 in Bronze(bladed) 4 in G/M(slider & lugs) & 1 cast.
I do not have a officer gilt version myself.
Your officer badge looks OK to me.
