Perhaps I'm picking this up wrong, but did you not post pictures of four GVIR Militia badges in your collection in a thread some time back. Two at least were Malta and Bermuda Militia I think in g/m.
They've definately been faked though and I remember your post as I'd just picked up a possible ringer. However, I'd like to think this officer's gilt badge is the real deal.
